[Big John’ Place Review] Donsubaek / 돈수백

20161223_121502Donsubaek is just a 3 minute walk from Big John’s Place.

If you want to eat Korean food and not wanting the spiciness to go with, might we suggest Donsubaek. This restaurant serves Korean soup dishes and it is open 24 hours 7 days a week – perfect if you come back late and is hungry for something to eat. Plus the staff here speak Mandarin so communication will be a breeze if you speak Mandarin too.

We come here quite often for their pork soup dish which is also the name of the restaurant and it’s really refreshing and satisfying every time we have it.

20161223_121707This place is always full during lunch time.

20161223_122508Here we ordered 2 Dontangbans and one Donsubaek. They’re basically the same soup except that the Donsubaek has an extra pork dish.

20161223_122556The pork dish for one person. Soft like papaya and savoury when you sink your teeth into it. Delicious!

20161223_122514The Dontangban tastes quite bland by itself and you would have to add either their shrimp sauce, salt, soy sauce, pepper powder or chili powder according to how you like it. Cut chive is also added into the soup for more taste and smell. After that, You add rice into the soup and eat them altogether. Very very nice on a cold winter day.

Here is the menu: Other than pork meat, they also serve pork innards as well.
